THE BUS LINE Χ80 PIRAEUS-AKROPOLIS-SYNTAGMA (EXPRESS) IS RE-LAUNCHED ON SATURDAY, JUNE 3, 2023

Athens Urban Transport Organization announces the re-launch of the EXPRESS bus line X80 “Piraeus – Acropolis – Syntagma EXPRESS”, on Saturday, June 3, 2023, having as goal to serve, in the best possible way, both passengers and visitors traveling to Athens.

The express bus line X80 route, will link OLP cruise terminal in Piraeus (Xaveriou Coast and Miaouli Coast) with the historic area of Acropolis, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre (SNFCC) as well as the centre of Piraeus with the centre of Athens.

The bus line X80 covers, round route, in about 60 minutes, a 27 km distance, meaning that, in just 30 minutes the passengers can get to Athens city center from the Port of Piraeus, and vice versa.

It has 16 bus stops, displaying several locations of tourist interest in Piraeus and Athens, such as the Acropolis Museum, the Piraeus Archaeological Museum, the Planetarium, the Piraeus Municipal Theater, the National Museum of Contemporary Art and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC).

Indicatively, there are stops at the two exits of the cruise terminal in PPA, in the center of Piraeus, at the metro station “Neo Faliro” (Karaiskaki Stadium), at the metro station “Syggrou-Fix”, at the ” Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center”, at the Acropolis and at Syntagma, with separate embarkation and disembarkation points for passengers.

From the intermediate stops of the bus line, there is the possibility of transfer:

  • at key metro stations (“Syggrou-Fix”, “Neo Faliro” and “Syntagma”),
  • on bus lines X96 (from Piraeus) and X95 (from Syntagma) with direction to the Athens International Airport “El. Venizelos”.

The itineraries will be carried out on a daily basis every 35 -40 minutes, from 7:00 to 21:15 (departing from the starting point, on the coast of Xaveriou).

On the bus line X80 only apply:

  1. The Daily Ticket for all public transport means at 4.10€

The daily ticket’s validity term is 24  hours since its first validation and provides the ability for unlimited travel within all Athens Urban Transport Organization (OASA) means: buses, trolley-buses, Athens Tram and Athens Metro Lines 1, 2 and 3 (up to Koropi Station).  The ticket is not valid for the Airport Transport lines, that is Airport EXPRESS bus lines and Athens Metro Line 3 for the route part Koropi – Airport.

  1. The 3-day Tourist Ticket at 20€

The 3-day Tourist Ticket’s validity term is 3 x 24  hours since its first validation and provides the ability for unlimited travel within all Athens Urban Transport Organization (OASA) means : buses, trolley-buses, Athens Tram and Athens Metro Lines 1, 2 and 3, including 1 roundtrip to/from the Athens International Airport.

It is noted that on days when the passenger terminal of Akti Themistokleous (passenger station B – gate E12) operates, the starting point will be temporarily transferred within the PPA area, between the entrance E12 of PPA and the terminal passenger station of Akti Themistokleous (immediately after the parking of the limousines).
