THE BUS LINE Χ80 PIRAEUS- AKROPOLIS- SYNTAGMA EXPRESS IS RE-LAUNCHED

The Express Bus Routes start today, April, the 30th

Transport for Athens (TfA) announces the re-launch of the bus line X80 PIRAEUS-AKROPOLIS-SYNTAGMA EXPRESS, having as goal to serve, in the best possible way, both passengers and visitors travelling to Athens greater area.

The express bus routes X80 which start today, April, the 30th, will link OLP cruise terminal in Piraeus (Xaveriou Coast and Miaouli Coast) with the historic area of Acropolis, as well as the centre of Piraeus with the centre of Athens.

The bus line X80 covers, round route, in 60 minutes, a 25 klm distance, meaning that the passengers in just 30 minutes, can get to Athens city centre from the Port of Pireaus, and vice versa. It has 15 bus stops, displaying several locations of particular tourist interest in Piraeus and Athens, such as the Acropolis Museum, the Piraeus Archaeological Museum, the Planetarium, the Piraeus Municipal Theater and the National Museum of Contemporary Art.

Indicatively, the bus line X80 stops at OLP both cruise terminal gates, at Piraeus city centre, “Neo Faliro” and “Syggrou-Fix” Metro stations, Acropolis area and Syntagma square, having also separate points of embarkation-disembarkation for the passengers.

The express bus line offers, also, transfer possibilities:
a. to central Metro stations (\"Syggrou –Fix”, “Syntagma” and “Neo Faliro”)
b. to bus lines X96 (from Piraeus) and X95 (from Athens, Syntagma square) with direction to the Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”.

X80 bus service is executed on a daily basis every 30 minutes, from 7:00 am (departing from the Xaveriou coast terminal station).

Valid tickets for the X80 bus line are:
i. €4 Daily Ticket, which is valid for 24 hours from validation, providing commuters the ability for unlimited travel within the network of TfA. Daily Tickets are sold by the line’s bus drivers for the exact amount, at all public transport ticket kiosks and automatic ticket machines, and the “TfA Tickets” mobile ticketing application (available at Google Play Store for Android and Apple Store for iOS).
ii. €20 3-day Tourist Ticket, providing commuters the ability for unlimited travel within the network of TfA, including 1 roundtrip to/from the Athens International Airport. Tourist Tickets are sold at selected public transport ticket kiosks and the “TfA Tickets” mobile ticketing application.

Additionally, Transportation for Athens continues its collaboration with the Benakis Museum, which offers to all passengers of the X80 line, a reduction to the entrance fee to its four museums buildings (Main Building - 1 Koumbari St. & Vas. Sofias Avenue, Pireos St. Annexe - 138 Pireos Avenue, Museum of Islamic Art - 22 Ag. Asomaton & 12 Dipilou Street, and N. Hadjikyriakos-Ghika Gallery - 3 Kriezotou Street).

The X80 line offers to domestic passengers the ability to commute fast in Athens and Piraeus, while tourists will have the unique opportunity to visit and get to know some of the most historical places in our city, with consistent and reliable public transport.
